When using the Sage Payroll interface, Business Manager must be updated before upgrading Sage Payroll. If the interface isn’t updated correctly, payroll integration may fail.
Before you begin, you'll need:
The two Sage .dll files that were provided for the update.
The relevant database password.
Administrator rights on the machine.
Copy the Sage Payroll files
To copy files to the Sage Payroll folder, follow these steps:
Right‑click the Sage Payroll desktop shortcut.
Click Properties.
Click Open file location.
Copy and paste the two .dll files into the Sage Payroll folder.
Copy files to the Business Manager folder
Next, copy the files into the Business Manager folder.
To do this, follow these steps:
Right‑click the Business Manager desktop shortcut.
Click Properties.
Click Open file location.
Copy and paste the same two
.dllfiles into the Business Manager folder.
Register the Sage DLL file
To register the Sage DLL file, follow these steps:

These steps assume Sage Payroll is installed in C:\Sage Payroll and uses paysdo291.dll
Adjust the path or file name if your version is different.
Open Command Prompt using Run as administrator.
Type the following commands, pressing Enter after each line:
Cd\
Cd Sage Payroll
Regsvr32 paysdo291.dll
Confirm the message stating the DLL was registered successfully.
Test the Sage Payroll connection
To test the connection, follow these steps:
Log in as an Administrator.
Click Pay, then click Sage Payroll Interface.
Click Settings.
Click Database login.
Click Test to confirm the connection works.
