Create a new exception type

In this article, we explain how you create a new exception type and set whether it’s payable, chargeable, or both.

If you need to apply specific pay or charge rules when visits don’t happen as planned, you can create a new exception type.

To create a new exception type, follow these steps:

  1. Click Pay or Invoicing, then click Exceptions.

  2. In the bottom‑right corner, click New.

  3. The Exception Type Properties window opens.

  4. Enter a Name and Description for the exception.

  5. Select the Chargeable checkbox if you want to charge for this exception.

  6. Select the Payable checkbox if you want to pay workers for this exception.

  7. Enter the percentage of the visit you want to pay and/or charge, based on your policy.

  8. Clear the Use Percentages checkbox, if you want to set a specific duration to pay or charge for instead.

  9. Click OK to save.
