If you can’t preview or print reports, or you see a Crystal Decisions error, the Crystal Reports runtime may be missing or not installed correctly. This can also happen after upgrading Windows or when using remote environments.

You may need IT support to install software, depending on your permissions.
If you use Citrix or Remote Desktop, Crystal Reports must be installed on the server, not your local machine.
Install or repair Crystal Reports
Top install or repair Crystal Reports, follow these steps:
Download and install Crystal Report Runtime 64‑bit.
If you see any errors during installation, click Continue until it finishes.
Download Crystal Report Runtime 32‑bit and choose Repair during setup.
Log out of the application, then log back in.
Try previewing or printing the report again.
If the report now loads, no further steps are needed.
Enable .NET Framework (if prompted)
If you see an error about a missing .NET Framework, enable it by following these steps:
Click the Windows button and search for Add or remove programs.
Click Programs and Features.
Click Turn Windows features on or off.
Select tge .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0) checkbox.
Click OK and allow Windows Update to install the components.
Once complete, re‑run the Crystal Reports installation.
After completing these steps, log out and log back in, then try previewing or printing the report again. If the issue continues, contact your IT support and confirm:
Which version of Windows you’re using.
Whether you’re working locally or via Citrix / Remote Desktop.
